PUBG Mobile has announced its Version 2.8 Update, bringing the new themed mode, Zombie's Edge, with new enemies, locations, challenges, items, and more. The latest patch is slated for release on September 7, 2023, in the Philippines. Check out more details below.

New Themed Mode: Zombie's Edge
In the PUBG Mobile Version 2.8 Update, Erangel, Miramar, and Livik maps will be overrun by infected Mutants until November 6, 2023 until November 6, 2023. Aerolith's pulsing dark energy has changed the lab that was used to study it into a deserted area with lots of supplies and resources. Anyone who goes there automatically gets a respawn card.
On these maps, deep in Aerolith Lab and Outpost, players must stop as many Mutants as they can from being eaten by the Aerolith. The Rage Berserker boss will be even harder to beat if the Aerolith absorbs more Mutants. The more Mutants it consumes, the stronger the boss will be. Players who overcome this scary enemy will get a crate as a reward.
New Enemies
In the Version 2.8 Update, players will find three Zombie types that are just as fearsome. In addition to the normal Mutant, there is the tall, scary Berserker, who uses weapons and shields in its strong, muscled right arm, and the agile Ripper, who can jump and dash quickly to attack and avoid being hit.
Rewards
Getting rid of these living dead is frightening, but the rewards are worth it. Some scary Zombies wander around the Aerolith Lab, but you can find more strong Rage Berserkers closer to the Aerolith. When these scary monsters are beaten, they drop genetic materials that can give players a wide range of supernatural abilities. Mutation Gauntlets are huge arm guards that deal huge amounts of melee damage and have a powerful Smash ability. Mutation Blades are razor-sharp swords that can be used to slash at enemies and, when paired with the Sprint ability, allow players to move quickly around the battlegrounds and do damage as they go.
More Updates
Players can also jump aboard the Maglev Hoverboard, which can be obtained from the Lab, to traverse both land and sea efficiently. Those who enjoy parties will also receive a surprise in early October to commemorate Halloweeks.
In addition, the PUBGM Version 2.8 Update introduces a variety of gameplay enhancements, such as improvements to the World of Wonder creative mode with Creation Rating, brand-new gameplay devices for the Editor, and a new Zombie PvE Template. Every round, new waves of monsters spawn here; only those who vanquish them all will emerge victorious.
Moreover, Cycle 5 Season 14 of PUBG Mobile is updated with new content, rewards, and cosmetics to unlock. Meanwhile, the latest Metro Royale Chapter 16 will introduce a new Dagger melee weapon and collectibles.
