Following the Patch 3.03 rolled out two weeks ago, Riot has released Valorant’s latest Patch 3.04, complete with patch notes. The latest update brings bug fixes on select agents, updates to many features, and gameplay tech. Check out more details below about Valorant 3.04 update.
Agent updates and fixes
The Dark Cover ability of Omen will no longer travel in unexpected directions. While players may notice subtle differences in the way Omen’s smoke travels and settles, it should now land precisely where the targeting preview indicates.
The bug that allowed KAY/O to equip abilities with no charges after activating the NULL/cmd ability has been resolved.
If Viper is suppressed while activating her Toxic Screen or Poison Cloud abilities, her ultimate no longer drains after her smokes dissipate.
The last is the fix for Cypher. While Cypher’s Cyber Cage projectile is in midair, players can no longer place abilities on it.
New esports improvements
Valorant 3.04 update also includes new esports-focused features to enhance the playing and viewing experience of players.
Tactical Timeouts will now display which team requested them. There will be no brief flash for observers when swapping player targets or switching to players after a projectile follow. Various abilities should now display correctly.
Gameplay tech updates
The latest update adds new options to the settings menu so that players can manage the performance of Valorant on their system. Under Settings > Video > Stats, players can find these new settings include packet loss breakdowns, upload data usage, average packet sizes, packet send/receive rate, and used/available memory.
Additionally, the performance cost of displaying these stats and graphs has been reduced, allowing players to monitor their game without consuming valuable system resources.
Other highlights of Valorant 3.04 update
A bug causing the Nearsight effect to be removed when a player was killed inside smoke has been fixed. The latest patch also fixed a bug where the buff/debuff timers did not display for spectators or observers. Moreover, patch 3.04 addressed the bug causing the UI to show players suppressed effect visuals if they were spectating a suppressed teammate at the end of the last round.
Gameplay tech fixes
The latest update ensures that defenders win the round if all living players are defeated simultaneously before the Spike is planted. For instance, if Raze’s Showstopper ability eliminates all players, the defenders win because the attackers were unable to plant the Spike.
An issue when turning off bullet tracers that caused all players’ tracers, including your own, to be removed has been fixed. Toggling the feature off will only hide your tracers, but all other tracers will still be visible.
A bug where some settings such as Perf Stats & Graphs and some Shooting Range were not saved properly was also fixed.
Quality of Life
Patch 3.04 improved how some items appear in the store. Players should be able to see the guns with all of their various parts and effects properly.
