Call of Duty: Vanguard multiplayer, beta details revealed
Activision has revealed the multiplayer and beta details for Call of Duty: Vanguard. The World War 2-themed first-person shooter game has also released video trailers.
According to the developer Sledgehammer Games, it is building Multiplayer on a pillar of tactical second-to-second gameplay. It will also offer players tons of customization and a reactive environment for new and improved movement features.

Call of Duty: Vanguard Multiplayer

Here are the following highlights of Call of Duty: Vanguard Multiplayer.
  • 20 maps at launch
  • New Game modes
  • Advanced weapon customization
  • New social and pacing options
  • New Perks, Killstreaks, Equipment, and Upgrades
20 Maps at the official launch
Sixteen maps for traditional core play, four maps for 2v2 Gunfights will be released at launch for Vanguard’s Multiplayer.
New Game modes
Call of Duty Vanguard will introduce Champion Hill game mode, a quick and intense tournament for Solo, Duos, and Trios. A new game mode called Patrol will also be available at launch. Based on Hardpoint, the objective-based mode features a near-constantly moving scoring zone; Operators must keep up and move around the map within the Patrol point to earn points for their team.
Advanced weapon customization
When choosing a loadout for Multiplayer, players will be gearing up at the Gunsmith within Create-a-Class. The Gunsmith will feature up to 10 attachment slots on certain weapons, an evolution of a system first introduced in Modern Warfare (2019).
For those who prefer to bring a knife to a gunfight, Riot Shields are returning in addition to two melee options: a standard-issue knife at launch and a bayonet charge for weapons equipped with an underbarrel blade. And to combat those hand-to-hand combat fiends, Akimbo will return for select weapons, providing a powerful but less accurate close-quarters option.
New social and pacing options
While these modes are familiar, a new Combat Pacing system introduces a new dynamic in the name of player choice. When queuing for Multiplayer, you have the following Combat Pacing options:
Tactical: This is the experience that veterans used to with classic Call of Duty combat timing. Tactical Combat Pacing is always 6v6.
Assault: This option offers balanced Combat Pacing that gives you enough room to breathe and many targets to kill. Assault is a middle ground between Tactical and Blitz. In Beta Weekend 1, player counts will vary between 20 and 28 players.
Blitz: these are high-action lobbies. Players need to prepare for plenty of combat when choosing to join a Blitz. In Beta Weekend 1, player counts will vary between 28 and 48 players.
Besides the new Combat Pacing options, there’s also a new Clan system. It will feature elements from the Modern Warfare (2019) Regiments system, which will be carried forward and renamed “Groups.”
Clans will feature bespoke progression, emblems, and Battle Pass–related rewards unlocked for an entire group.
New Perks, Killstreaks, Equipment, and Upgrades
Call of Duty Vanguard also highlights new perks, killstreaks, equipment, and upgrades.
Both Operator Perks and Weapon Perks, renamed Proficiencies, make a comeback, with some augmentations affecting movement and firing techniques.
There are also Field Upgrades. Dead Silence will return, and its active time will be extended through earning kills.
