Globe and Smart are among the top telcos in Opensignal’s 5G Global Impact Awards 2021.
5G Global Impact measures the improvement or uplift in mobile experience when users connect to 5G compared to older 4G technology. The award recognizes the top 30 telcos worldwide with the greatest improvement in the following categories: Download Speed, Upload Speed, Games Experience, and Video Experience.
According to Opensignal’s latest report, Globe and Smart entered the 7th and 9th spot in the Download Speed category, recording an improvement of 980.1% and 774.4%, respectively. Meanwhile, the global average is at 438.2 percent.
For the Upload Speed, Smart ranked fourth with a 288.7% improvement, while Globe placed eighth with 200.7%. The global average for the category stands at 116.9 percent.
Globe dominated the Games Experience category with a whopping improvement of 65.2%, followed by Smart with 42.2%. The global average is at 8.2 percent.
Finally, for the Video Experience, Globe and Smart grabbed the second and third spot with 32.8% and 23.4% improvement, respectively. The global average for this division is at 8.8 percent.
