Philippines’ Team Secret defeated their SEA rivals from Vietnam SBTC Esports with a clean sweep, 3-0, at the start of League of Legends: Wild Rift Horizon Cup 2021 playoffs. With their victory, Team Secret exacted revenge for their recent SEA Championship loss against the Vietnamese squad.
Team Secret started strong in Game 1, dominating SBTC in terms of kills and gold advantage. Under 3 minutes of action, they were able to score a triple kill, thanks to Chewy’s Lucian, Hamez’s Nami, and Trebor’s Lee Sin. Hamez’s Nami ultimate at the 17-minute mark allowed room for the squad to take down two of three of the SBTC’s players. Team Secret finished the first game with a 16-8 kill advantage against the Vietnamese team.
Continuing their momentum, Team Secret showed an all-out performance in Game 2, as they ended the match at the 14-minute mark with a landslide kill score of 21 against 7 of SBTC, leading the series 2-0.
Game 3 saw Team Secret not giving SBTC Esports a chance for a decider game, as they outplayed the Vietnamese squad with their pokes and snares, resulting in a 22-3 kill lead and ultimately eliminating SBTC in the inaugural international tournament.
Midlaner Tatsurii was named MVP in Games 1 and 2, while Eleazar “Azar” Salle was named MVP in Game 3 for his outstanding performance as Darius.
The next opponent of Team Secret will be China’s Da Kun Gaming.
