Sony announces 2022 BRAVIA XR TV lineup

Sony globally announced the latest BRAVIA XR TV series, comprising X90K 4K LED model, MASTER Series A80K and A90K 4K OLED models, and X95K 4K Mini LED models.

The XR Backlight Master Drive, powered by the Cognitive Processor XR, precisely controls Sony’s latest generation Mini LED backlight in the X95K series.

Sony shared that these innovations offer the “best and most immersive viewing experiences,” conveying the creator’s “true intent.” When watching films, viewers can take advantage of the enhanced Acoustic Surface Audio+ for OLED models and Acoustic Multi-Audio for LED models, which precisely matches the position of the sound with the images on the TV screen for a “truly immersive audio/visual experience.” Additionally, the lineup includes new features that allow greater customization and enhancement of at-home entertainment.

Meanwhile, Sony launched Netflix Adaptive Calibrated Mode in collaboration with Netflix, automatically adjusting image processing based on ambient light. In addition, Sony’s new BRAVIA CORE Calibrated Mode automatically adjusts the image quality onscreen.

Further, all 2022 BRAVIA XR televisions will include PlayStation 5 support features such as Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode.

Also, this year, Sony is introducing a newly developed original camera device, the BRAVIA CAM, which detects the user’s position and optimizes the image and sound accordingly. It features gesture controls and video chat, among other features.
