PPGL reveals 2022 VCT PH, WCS PH timeline
The Philippine Pro Gaming League (PPGL) has revealed its tournament schedule for 2022, featuring the Valorant Challengers Tour – Philippines (VCT PH) and the Wild Rift Champions Southeast Asia – Philippines (WCS PH).
The two local qualifiers, supported and recognized by Riot Games, are the country’s only official Valorant and League of Legends: Wild Rift competitions. Check out the tournaments’ format and timeline below.

Valorant Challengers Tour – Philippines (VCT PH)

VCT PH has two (2) qualifying stages: the first is currently underway and will conclude on February 27; the second will take place between April 12 and May 29. Participants may enter both rounds, which will feature a total prize pool of USD 30,000.
Six (6) squads will be selected from the Open Qualifiers and compete in the Group Stage against two (2) seeded teams from the previous season. Only six (6) teams will advance to the Playoffs, with the top three (3) earning the opportunity to represent the Philippines in the upcoming regional competition.

  • Registration: January 4 to 17
  • Open Qualifiers: January 22 to 30
  • Group Stages: February 10 to 20
  • Playoffs: February 24 to 27
  • Registration: April 12 to 25
  • Open Qualifiers: April 30 to May 8
  • Group Stages: May 12 to 22
  • Playoffs: May 26 to 29

Wild Rift Champions Southeast Asia – Philippines (WCS PH)

WCS PH registration is open now through February 1. Starting with the Swiss and Knockout Round Qualifiers, a total of six (6) teams and two (2) seeded teams from the previous year will advance to the Regular Season, which runs from February 25 to March 27. They will then vie for a spot in the Playoffs, which will run from April 1 to 10.
The top two (2) teams from the Playoffs Finals will represent the Philippines in the competition’s pan-regional stages. WCS PH features a total prize pool of USD 160,000.

  • Registration Date: January 19 to February 1
  • Swiss Round Qualifiers: February 5 to 6
  • Knockout Round Qualifiers: February 11 to 13
  • Group Stages: February 25 to March 27
  • Playoffs: April 1 to 10
Riot Games head of esports for SEA/HK/TW Chris Tran shared that they are “thrilled to welcome” the VCT back for a second season and “introduce” the WCS to host countries throughout the region.
Mineski Philippines country manager Mark Navarro said that they are excited to continue offering Filipinos a “year of unique esports opportunities” through their partnership with Riot Games.
