Globe has announced that its video-on-demand platform Upstream is now available on GCash through GLife. GCash users can now watch films, series, and live events through their mobile wallet app.
How to access Upstream in GCash?
To get started, be sure that you’ve already registered an account in GCash. If you don’t have one, sign up to GCash first and cash in through various methods, such as online banking and remittance. After that, you can follow the procedure below.
1. On the GCash dashboard, click on GLife.
2. Search for UPSTREAM PH and select it.
3. Once prompted with a message asking your GCash information needs to be shared with the app, just tap on the “I Agree” button.
You can choose from a wide selection of films and series worldwide, with blockbuster local and international titles available at a special rate of PHP 50. Additional special offerings will be available during Chinese New Year and Valentine’s Day.
Moreover, you may like to schedule movie night on Thursdays and watch through Upstream’s Throwback Thursday movie treat. And on your birthday, you can enjoy a free screening of your choice.
Upstream’s library includes original productions, critically acclaimed Filipino and international films, classic Philippine films, and a diverse selection of engaging online and television shows spanning multiple genres.
Upstream, previously known as GMovies, is a Filipino-founded video-on-demand website that began in November 2020 to provide a streaming alternative for Filipino viewers during the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak.
In June 2021, it reached a significant milestone when it announced an agreement with film giant Universal Pictures to exclusively distribute the Hollywood studio’s 2021 projects and future slate.
