South Korean game company Netmarble has announced that Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds is set to release on May 25, 2022, for iOS, Android, and PC platforms. The highly anticipated massively multiplayer online role-playing (MMORPG) anime game will feature cross-play between mobile and PC versions.
Ni no Kuni Cross Worlds is directed and created by Level-5 and features animations from Studio Ghibli with music by composer Joe Hisaishi. The open-world, which feels like an animated film, is rendered in the Unreal 4 Engine.
The story revolves around the player character who has just arrived in a new virtual reality game called Soul Divers, set in the world of Ni no Kuni. However, it turns out the world is actually real.
On the gameplay front, it features PvP (Player vs. Player), PvE (Players vs. Environment), and multiple playable classes, namely Swordsman, Witch, Rogue, Engineer, and Destroyer. Each class in Ni no Kuni Cross Worlds has unique skills and abilities that will be used in combat.
Moreover, there are mysterious creatures called Familiars, who join players to fight alongside them, providing special abilities to help them succeed in battle. Players can collect up to three Familiars.
Further, players are able to decorate their own farm with various accessories as they work to rebuild the fallen Nameless Kingdom with online friends.
There are also a wide variety of mounts available for players to obtain as they traverse the world. They can ride different mounts, like floating mechanical gliders, giant cats, and grumpy birds.
