Huawei Mate 50 Pro launches in PH, prices start at P58,999

Huawei officially launched Mate 50 Pro, dubbed "Camera King," in the Philippines. The flagship smartphone is now available at online and physical Huawei stores, authorized retail outlets, and e-commerce sites Lazada and Shopee, with a suggested retail price starting at P58,999 for the Black and Silver versions and P68,999 for the Orange Vegan Leather version.

The highly anticipated Huawei Mate 50 Pro is a homage to a decade of Mate innovation, bringing stylish design and ground-breaking innovations to meet the evolving needs of consumers today. It is expected to transform the mobile photography landscape in the country. With a Camera score of 149, the phone has already established itself as the global leader in DxOMark's smartphone camera ranking.

Earlier in China, reservations for the new Huawei Mate 50 Pro surpassed 2.45 million units, demonstrating customer demand. During the September First Sale, it sold out in just 10 seconds. This phenomenon was accompanied by lengthy customer lines in front of Huawei company stores.

Futuristic and Elegant Design

Faithful to the Mate Series design language of iconic symmetry, the latest Huawei Mate 50 Pro features an elegant Clous de Paris pattern around the rear camera module for the very first time, forming an intricate pyramid-shaped ornamentation alongside the acclaimed Space Ring Design. This stunning, time-honored French embossing technique is combined with independent cameras to reduce the protruding effect of the lenses. Refined procedures streamline the camera module, liberating space and creating a new type of layered beauty.

Moreover, Huawei Mate 50 Pro have two types of rear covers: glass and vegan leather. The glass cover is available in silver and black, giving the phone a distinguished, elegant appearance. The orange color of the vegan leather version is inspired by the sun's natural orange rays.

Huawei Mate 50 Pro - Kunlun Glass

The industry's first Kunlun Glass, comprised of 10 quadrillion-level nanocrystals, makes the device ten times more resistant to drops. This is confirmed by the five-star glass drop resistance certification from SGS of Switzerland. Additionally, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro supports IP68-rated water resistance of up to six (6) meters underwater, enabling it to handle wet and dusty environments with ease.

Further, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro measures 162.1mm in length, 75.5mm in width, and 8.5mm in thickness. The glass versions of the Mate 50 Pro in silver and black weigh 205 grams, while the orange vegan leather version weighs 209 grams. The Mate 50 Pro successfully combines elegance and a design that is easy to hold.

Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera

In July of this year, Huawei introduced its own mobile imaging brand, XMAGE, with the intention of providing consumers with a new shooting paradigm that combines science, culture, and aesthetics in terms of technologies, imaging style, and shooting experience.

The Huawei Mate 50 Pro boasts a state-of-the-art Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera with a 10-size physically adjustable aperture, which incorporates key advancements to the optical system, mechanical structure, imaging tech, and image processing. In Auto mode, the intelligent aperture adjusts to match the aperture size to the scene, and shooting scenario identified. The Professional mode enables you to manually adjust the blur level and depth of field (DoF).

The Ultra Aperture Camera features a large F1.4 aperture that, in conjunction with the XD Fusion Pro photo engine and high light intake, optimizes the image's brightness, light and shadow details, and cold and warm contrasts. Even in dimly lit environments, night mode captures photographs with highly distinct bright and dark regions. Portrait mode blurs the background naturally to isolate the subject from its surroundings. The periscope telephoto camera has a maximum zoom range of 200x, bringing distant vistas to your eyes.

The wide-angle macro camera magnifies minute worlds, displaying millimeter-scale strands and dew droplets with exceptional clarity. The Mate 50 Pro also supports macro video recording and macro picture-in-picture (PiP) for capturing accurate motion scenes.

Powerful Performance

The Mate 50 Pro is one of the first smartphones to run the EMUI 13 interface, which simplifies daily interactions with one-touch navigation. EMUI 13's features ensure that everything remains personal, productive, and private.

Some of the notable features include SuperStorage, which eliminates duplicate files invisibly and compresses seldom-used apps. This saves up to 20 GB of space, allowing users to capture more photos and videos daily. SuperHub, on the other hand, enables users to temporarily store images, documents, and text, as well as share them in bulk via free and simple transfers between apps and devices.

Comprehensive privacy features provide the highest level of security. The Huawei Mate 50 Pro smartphone supports Image Privacy Protection. Its function is like this. When you share an image, the phone erases confidential information, such as the location and time, automatically.

In addition, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro features a maximum 4700 mAh battery and 66W wired and 50W wireless fast-charging solutions.

User Experience

Huawei's innovations are centered on adapting features to meet our day-to-day needs. Low-Battery Emergency mode on the HUAWEI Mate 50 Pro activates SuperEnergy Boosting when EMUI 13 detects the battery level has dropped to 1%. In Low-Battery Emergency mode, which does not reduce the battery's lifespan, the phone has a 3-hour standby time and a 12-minute talk time. This buys you time and allows you to complete transactions and important calls, ensuring that you take care of necessities before your battery dies completely.

Moreover, users can now access Google Apps via GBox from the Huawei AppGallery. With a single login and a few taps, users can download their favorite apps.
