M4 World Championship: Format, Teams, Schedule, Streams

Moonton Games has announced that Mobile Legends M4 World Championship, which will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia, will feature 16 of the best teams from 12 regions worldwide competing for their share of a USD 800,000 total prize pool and the title of best Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) team in the world.

Meanwhile, a few changes have been made to the list of participating regions for the M4 World Championship. The region of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will not attend the forthcoming event. After missing the previous M3 World Championships, Mekong and Myanmar will participate in the world series tournament again.

Mobile Legends M4 World Championship Overview

M4 World Championship is the fourth iteration of Mobile Legends' world championship tournament. The event will be held from January 1 to 15, 2023, in Jakarta, Indonesia.


Sixteen ML teams globally are qualified for the tournament. Top Mobile Legends squads will compete for a share of the USD 800,000 (roughly PHP 44 million) prize pool.

Game Format

Here's the game format for the M4 World Championship 2023.

Group Stage (January 1 to 4, 2023):

  • Sixteen (16) teams are split into 4 groups of 4 teams.
  • Each team will play a best-of-one (Bo1) in a single round-robin format.
  • The top 2 squads in each group will move to the upper bracket of the playoffs (Knockout Stage).
  • The bottom 2 squads in each group will move to the lower bracket of the playoffs (Knockout Stage).
  • There will be no elimination in the group stage.

Knockout Stage (January 7 to 15, 2023):

  • All upper-bracket matches will be played in a best-of-five (Bo5) series.
  • The first two rounds of lower-bracket matches will be played in a best-of-three (Bo3) series, and the rest will be played in a Bo5 match.
  • Grand Finals will be played in a best-of-seven (Bo7) match.

Knockout Stage (January 7 to 15, 2023)

The playoffs will run from January 7 to 15. The two remaining teams will meet in the grand finals on January 15 (Sunday) to crown a world champion.
