Apex Legends Mobile, Battlefield Mobile set for shutdown

EA titles Apex Legends Mobile and Battlefield Mobile are slated for shutdown.

Apex Legends Mobile is scheduled for shutdown on May 1, 2023, at 4 pm PST (May 2, 2023, at 8 am Philippine Time). The free-to-play mobile battle royale shooter by EA launched for iOS and Android only 8 months ago.

Here's the full end-of-service announcement by developer Respawn via their Twitter account:

"We have made the painful decision to sunset Apex Legends Mobile.

"This decision does not come with ease. Factors beyond our control have prevented us from maintaining the high-quality experience and content that our players deserve.

"As a result, the game will sunset on May 1, 2023 at 4:00 p.m. PT after which it will no longer be playable.

"Our gratitude to our players and teams for joining us on Apex Legends Mobile, even if for a short while, is unending. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you"

Meanwhile, EA's other unreleased mobile shooter game, Battlefield Mobile, will cease development, according to the announcement posted by the company [https://ift.tt/JC70eUE].

EA also stated that the next Battlefield game was already in pre-production and that development on the most recent installment in the series, Battlefield 2042, was underway.

To recall, Battlefield Mobile conducted its open beta in the Philippines and other select countries in November 2022, offering thrilling new game modes, social systems, and features.
