Globe remained at the top of the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) performance index of subscription-based video streaming service Netflix for the Philippines in 2022.
For those unaware, the Netflix ISP Speed Index measures the performance of a particular internet service provider (ISP). Speed is essential for Netflix streaming because it ensures videos load quickly and with minimal delays. If not, viewers may experience buffering and pixelation issues while streaming content.
Globe At Home broadband led the Netflix ISP Speed index for 12 months in a row last year. In December, it got a score of 3.6 Mbps. This makes it clear that the company is known for giving Filipinos a 1st World Network experience.
This means that Globe At Home has been giving Netflix subscribers better picture quality, faster start times, and fewer interruptions.
The year before, the telco dominated the Netflix ISP Speed Index for 10 of the 12 months. From February to November, it was in the first place by itself.
Raymond Policarpio, Globe At Home Brand Management Head, said they are "proud to have further cemented" their standing in the Netflix ISP Speed Index in 2022. He added that this achievement further shows their commitment to providing "fast and reliable connectivity" to their customers. They are also "glad to be the provider of choice for Filipinos" and will continue to ensure that they'll maintain this level of performance.
On the other hand, Globe At Home's December 2022 score was at par with that of the Philippines and 39 other countries, including Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Malaysia, New Zealand, Panama, Paraguay, Romania, Taiwan, Thailand, Uruguay, United Kingdom, and United States.
Moreover, its score was better than the average speed of 3.4 Mbps in several countries, such as Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Greece, Indonesia, Kuwait, Mexico, Peru, South Korea, Poland, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, and Vietnam.
Netflix is the most popular streaming entertainment service in the world, with over 223 million paid subscribers in over 190 countries. It offers a wide variety of films, television series, documentaries, and mobile games in a variety of genres and languages.
