Losing your GOMO SIM card can be a bothersome experience, especially if you use your phone number for communication or have it linked to mobile apps or services requiring a one-time PIN (OTP), such as a mobile wallet, online banking and e-commerce.
A SIM card can be lost or damaged due to various reasons, such as when it is misplaced, broken, malfunctioned, or the device is stolen. Thanks to the introduction of SIM card registration in the Philippines, it is now easier to replace a lost SIM and retain the same mobile number. To get started, you can check the step-by-step guide below.
How to replace a lost GOMO SIM and keep the same mobile number?
To have your lost GOMO SIM card replaced while keeping your mobile number, follow the procedure below.
Step 1: Report your lost phone to NTC for IMEI blocking.
Whether your device with a GOMO SIM was stolen or lost, you should report it to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) so that its IMEI can be blocked, preventing it from being utilized by an unauthorized user. For complete steps and requirements, see: How to Block Lost/Stolen Phone Using IMEI (Report to NTC).
Step 2: Request GOMO SIM blocking.
To ensure the security of your account, you may have your line deactivated temporarily. Go to the official GOMO Facebook page (https://ift.tt/29LPXDa), send a message, and chat with a customer service agent to request SIM blocking for your GOMO mobile number because your SIM/device got lost.
Step 3: Request SIM replacement.
While you're still chatting with the GOMO agent, you can request a SIM replacement. Make sure to provide a scanned copy of a Duly Notarized Affidavit of Loss, a government-issued ID, as well as the personal information you've registered during SIM registration, such as full name, address, birth date, and mobile number. The agent will ask for additional requirements if there are any. You will also pay for the SIM and the delivery fee.
