Starlink, a satellite internet service, has launched in the Philippines, announced SpaceX via its official Twitter page. The price of the kit and the monthly service fee were also unveiled.
"Available na ngayon ang Starlink sa Pilipinas -> starlink.com/map," read the tweet.
Elon Musk's space company, SpaceX, runs the satellite internet service Starlink, which started launching satellites in 2019. The unlimited internet service offers a no-contract service. It boasts "high-speed, low-latency broadband internet," delivering download speeds of up to 200 Mbps.
SpaceX's Starlink is the world's first and largest satellite constellation. It uses a low Earth orbit (LEO) to deliver broadband internet that can support streaming, online gaming, video calls, and more.
If you're interested in availing of Starlink internet service, you can visit the Starlink Map website (starlink.com/map). Enter your address and place your order.
After entering your address, the order form reveals that the monthly service fee is Php 2,700 per month, no contract, and the price of the hardware (kit) is Php 29,320, which is a one-time payment. The monthly subscription fee was way better than we initially expected, around Php 5k per month.
