Barode bags Sibol's first PUBGM medal at SEAG 2023 w/ bronze

Abdul Barode ended the Philippine national esports team's medal drought in the PUBG Mobile event after securing bronze in the individual tournament of the Southeast Asian Games 2023 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

The 21-year-old man from Tagaytay City finished in fourth place after eight nerve-racking matches on Monday, accumulating a total of 81 points.

The win of Barode marks Sibol's first medal in the PUBG Mobile (PUBGM) event since its inception in the Vietnam SEA Games 2022.

On the other hand, the Sibol PUBG Mobile teams were unsuccessful in bringing home medals in the PUBGM team tournament held May 12 to 14.

This concludes Sibol's campaign in esports titles in Cambodia Games. Overall, the Philippines garnered a total of 6 medals in the esports events, with two golds, one silver, and three bronzes.

However, they missed out on a podium finish.
