Beginning on June 2, 2023, Maya Savings accounts will accrue daily interest of 3.5% per annum (p.a.). This is a decrease of 0.5% from the previous base rate of 4% p.a.
Maya revealed this update via a notification on its app on May 29.
Here's the full statement regarding the update on Maya Savings.
"Hello from Team Maya! Starting June 2, 2023, your Maya Savings account will now earn 3.5% interest p.a. daily.
"Just like before, the 3.5% base interest p.a. of Maya Savings applies to a max. balance of P5,000,000. Any amount in excess of P5 million will earn no interest.
"Starting June 5, here's how you can make your way up to 10% p.a.!
- 3.5% base interest p.a.- open a Savings account
- +0.5% bonus interest p.a. - spend at least P1,500 on bills payment or airtime load (select billers only)
- +1% bonus interest p.a. - spend a total of P1,000 using your Maya card, QR or check out with Maya online
- +1% bonus interest p.a. - spend a total of P10,000 using your Maya card, QR or check out with Maya online
- +2% bonus interest p.a. - spend a total of P25,000 using your Maya card, QR or check out with Maya online
- +2% bonus interest p.a. - spend a total of P35,000 using your Maya card, QR or check out with Maya online
"Simply combine your payments to reach the required spend per bonus interest:
- Pay bills in the app
- Buy load in the app
- Go shopping with your Maya card
- Book flights and hotels
- Pay for tuition or rent
"Important: update your app to the latest version to start seeing your boost. You can also check your Missions anytime to see your progress.
"Terms and conditions apply. Get up to 10% p.a. on your first P100,000 when you spend with Maya from June 5 to August 31, 2023."
