One of the world's most iconic Japanese manga and anime franchises, Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Super have achieved something truly exceptional in staying relevant and meaningful to the generation that grew up watching and reading it, whilst constantly engaging new and young audiences. In addition to its multi-generational and international appeal, its famous theme of conquering challenges really resonates with PUBG MOBILE and our players, and meant PUBG MOBILE team really worked hard to make this one of the most impressive in-game brand collaborations.

Dragon Ball Super-Themed Mode

The first of two ground-breaking Dragon Ball Super modes will be available in-game from July 13 to September 4, 2023, incorporating Dragon Ball elements into the classic PUBG Mobile battle royale gameplay. Through this game mode, players can collect seven Dragon Balls to summon Shenron and make a wish at the Shenron Summoning Altar to receive powerful buffs in-game.

In Erangel, Livik, and Sanhok, players will have the opportunity to explore four new Dragon Ball Super-themed areas modeled after locations and structures from the series. "Dragon Ball Village," "Kame House," "Tenkaichi Budokai," and "Karin Tower" all contain items for players to discover. In addition, players will be able to toss the new "Hoipoi Capsule" to transform it into a three-seat "Air Car" for traversing the battlefields.

This update contains a "Ki" component integral to the Dragon Ball franchise. Collect "Ki"-like Energy for enhanced mobility, to use the legendary "Kamehameha" beam to eliminate opponents, and "Buku-jutsu (Levitation technique)" to fly effortlessly at running speed. When low on "Ki," players can consume "Senzu Beans" to replenish it along with their Health and Energy.

Those desiring an additional challenge should stay alert for additional information on the Dragon Ball Trial. Here, players are tasked with searching seven Dragon Balls, despite the fact that their locations are visible to other teams. To win the game, players must first obtain the Dragon Balls, then defend the Sheron Summoning Altar, and finally make a wish.

Battle Royale: Dragon Ball Super

The second of two Dragon Ball Super modes will bring a fresh gameplay overhaul to PUBG Mobile, transforming the battlegrounds into a stylized world of animated art from July 15 to September 4, 2023. In place of traditional weapons, players will assume the form of one of Dragon Ball Super's five playable characters – Son Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo, Frieza, or Ultimate Gohan – and utilize their unique main and support moves in combat, vying to be the last one standing.

As part of this brand-new game mode, players will collect Spirit Crystlets and Spirit Crystals from the ground to restore energy and enhance their moves, with Level 4 being the maximum, as well as utilize a variety of new features such as Teleport Points and Updraft to navigate and manipulate the map.

Prepare for the myriad of Dragon Ball Super-themed outfits and items arriving on July 14, including special outfits featuring Son Goku, Frieza, Vegeta, and the companions, Pilaf and Karin. On August 11, the update will bring additional content to the partnership, so players should keep their eyes open.
