Globe expands 5G network coverage with 716 new cell sites

Globe has been making remarkable progress in expanding its 5G network. In the first nine months of the year, they have installed 716 new 5G cell sites, which has resulted in a significant improvement in their 5G outdoor coverage.

According to Globe Telecom, their 5G outdoor coverage has increased to 97.67 percent in the National Capital Region (NCR) and 92.06 percent in the key cities of Visayas and Mindanao.

The number of 5G devices that connected to Globe in September 2023 reached 5.2 million, indicating increasing adoption among Filipinos.

Further, Globe has expanded partnerships to 156 carriers in 82 destinations, positioning the Philippines as a notable 5G participant.

Globe has already expanded its 5G roaming coverage to various countries, including Aland Islands, Crete, Croatia, Guatemala, India, Kazakhstan, Laos, Nigeria, Peru, Romania, Seychelles, and South Africa. Moreover, foreign visitors to the Philippines can also take advantage of the telco's improved 5G infrastructure.
