PH mobile download speed at 27.75 Mbps: Ookla Nov 2023

The Speedtest Global Index report for November 2023 has been released by Ookla, indicating that the Philippines' internet rank has moved two spots up in Fixed Broadband and decreased two positions in Mobile.

The country ranked 48th globally in the Fixed Broadband category, recording an average median download speed of 92.19 Mbps. The average upload speed was listed at 92.45 Mbps, and the average latency was 6 ms.

In the Mobile category, the Philippines ranked 84th, registering an average download speed of 27.75 Mbps. The average upload speed and latency were registered at 6.81 Mbps and 23 ms, respectively.

Compared to the October 2023 charts, the performance of the internet in the country saw no significant improvement in either Mobile or Fixed Broadband.

Philippines ranks 84th in mobile and 48th in fixed broadband, according to the November 2023 data of the Ookla Speedtest Global Index.

Regarding global median speeds, the average download speed for Fixed Broadband is 90.21 Mbps, while the average for Mobile is 48.61 Mbps.

United Arab Emirates (UAE) recorded the fastest mobile internet speed in the world, with an average download speed of 324.92 Mbps. On the other hand, Singapore dominated the fixed broadband category, recording an average download speed of 263.51 Mbps.

The Speedtest Global Index for November 2023 includes 145 countries for Mobile and 181 for Fixed Broadband.

The Speedtest Global Index, which is developed by analytics firm Ookla, calculates the median download speed to offer a more precise picture of the achievable internet speeds in a specific market. To be ranked in the mobile or fixed broadband category, a location must have at least 300 unique user results.
