Globe Telecom significantly expanded its 5G network in Visayas and Mindanao in 2023, installing 41 new sites.
According to Globe, this 5G network expansion in key VizMin cities is "in line with its strategic rollout of the technology, as it continues to test for certain applications that will enable Filipinos across social classes."

Visayas, a dynamic and culturally affluent region situated in the center of the Philippines, is renowned for its substantial economic contributions via its thriving services and industry sectors.
Globe's investment in the digital infrastructure of the region is in accordance with the economic objectives of the national government and the progressive Digital Philippines initiative. This ensures that all individuals have equal access to the advantages of technology.
On the other hand, Mindanao, an island that ranks second in size in the Philippines, is widely recognized for its extensive natural resources and rapidly developing economic prospects. At present, the area is experiencing a major transformation, developing into a pivotal economic zone.
Globe achieved outdoor coverage of 92.36 percent in major cities of Visayas and Mindanao in 2023 and 97.90 percent in the National Capital Region (NCR). This enabled over 5.8 million devices to connect to Globe's 5G network in December, demonstrating the company's commitment to innovation and service.
Globe has expanded its network strategically despite market constraints and the search for 5G use cases. The company's continued investment in 5G sites shows its commitment to responsible technology rollout and sustainable growth.
