OPPO Reno12 Series 5G will launch in the Philippines on July 12, 2024. The latest AI phone lineup features AI Portrait and AI LinkBoost.
OPPO Philippines confirmed that the flagship series will come with two variants, the OPPO Reno12 5G and OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G. It added that "the newest addition to the brand's series of Portrait Experts promises to deliver cutting-edge and intuitive AI technology," which is "in line with the company's goals of making the AI smartphone experience accessible to more Filipinos."

AI Portrait
The OPPO Reno12 Series 5G is equipped with AI imaging features, including the upgraded AI Eraser 2.0, which now includes a "Remove People" capability to facilitate the faster and more efficient elimination of photobombers. This is in addition to the enhanced accuracy of the Smart Lasso and Paint Over options that were introduced in the OPPO Reno11 Series 5G last April.
Moreover, the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G includes AI Studio, a pre-installed mobile app that enables users to convert any photo of themselves into their own digital avatar or profile image. The app offers a diverse selection of creative filters and likenesses from which to select.
The OPPO Reno12 5G lives up to the Reno Series' renowned photography standard by featuring a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 Sensor with an 'All Pixel Omni-Directional PDAF' and OIS (optical image stabilization) for its primary camera, while the OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G has a 50-megapixel telephoto portrait camera.
Both the OPPO Reno12 5G (32-megapixel) and OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G (50-megapixel) selfie cameras are equipped with advanced AI Portrait capabilities that support both autofocus and Portrait Mode. This enables users to switch between various zoom levels to capture the perfect shot. The exposure of both phones will be intelligently adjusted based on the scene by the Natural Tone feature, resulting in more realistic skin tones and lighting effects for individual and group photos.
AI LinkBoost
OPPO's AI LinkBoost, a proprietary communication technology, is poised to revolutionize connectivity standards in the OPPO Reno 12 Series 5G. It is equipped with a 360º Surround Antenna solution, which is comprised of nine individual antennas. This solution is capable of delivering reliable connectivity in even the most difficult situations. In addition, its BeaconLink technology improves Bluetooth uplink capabilities by 300 percent, allowing for device-to-device voice conversations over Bluetooth at a distance of up to 200 meters in an entirely disconnected environment.
In order to demonstrate the AI LinkBoost's ability to improve connectivity, OPPO, together with Smart Communications, conducted a series of trials with the OPPO Reno12 Series 5G. These trials included network switching, recovery tests, congested areas, and areas with weak signals. The OPPO Reno12 5G and OPPO Reno12 Pro 5G achieved remarkable results and outperformed their competitors in all four categories.
