TFT Set 14 Cyber City to launch on April 2, 2025 in PH

Riot Games Philippines unveiled the details for Cyber City, the latest set for Teamfight Tactics (TFT) to hit Public Beta Environment (PBE) servers tomorrow, March 18, 2025, and is scheduled for official release on April 2 with the Patch 14.1 update.

Set in a vibrant city teeming with factions vying for control, TFT Set 14 Cyber City introduces exciting new gameplay, mechanics, champions, traits, and cosmetics.

Cyber City, available on PC and mobile, provides a dynamic challenge for TFT veterans and newbies. Further, TFT esports' new competitive tier will allow players to compete based on performance to qualify for Set 15's regional series. More details below.

TFT Set 14 Cyber City: Update Overview

Champions

Cyber City has powerful champions eager to fight for street and skyscraper dominance. Shaco returns as a 1-cost after a long absence, while Aphelios and Brand come back as 4-cost champs. Kobuko and Aurora will debut in new battle boss attire in the 5-cost category. Moreover, the legendary lineup includes Samira, Garen, Zac, Urgot, Viego, and Renekton.

New Traits and Origins

  • Street Demon: Use Street Demon hexes to boost your champions. Units placed on these highlighted hexes gain double the stats. Signature hexes offer even more power.
  • Anima Squad: Choose weapons inspired by the League of Legends game mode, Swarm. These weapons fire automatically during battle, helping you win when it matters most. The squad includes Vayne, Leona, Yuumi, and Aurora.
  • Golden Ox: Golden Ox champs deal more damage and drop gold during battles. Spend a lot in turn to increase your bonuses permanently, but make sure to save for the next round.
  • Cypher: Cypher champs gather Intel by losing battles or defeating enemies. You can trade this Intel for loot in certain rounds. The more Cypher champs you have, the more Intel you'll gather.
  • Syndicate: Upgrade a Syndicate champ with a Kingpin hat to boost their skills. If you have 5 Syndicate champs, you can choose another Kingpin to enhance even more. With 7 Syndicate champs, your Kingpins get stronger and gain extra benefits.
  • Cyberbosses (Yordles): The new Yordle group gets bigger and stronger as they level up. These Yordles have powerful abilities that grow with their size.

Set Mechanic: Hacks

In the Cyber City update, "hackers" have cracked core TFT systems like Augments, Opening Encounters, Orbs, Carousels, and Shops, resulting in unexpected gameplay changes. These "happy little hackciddents" introduce fun surprises. Augment Hacks that require choosing between one strong and two weaker Augments and specific slot adjustments like Black Market Augments from previous sets are examples. Shops can be hacked, revealing lucky (customized) shops or 2-star champions.

Moreover, Glitched Carousels return with extra items, Anvils, and rare Sentinel Golems with random emblems. These hacks ensure all players in each lobby experience the same level of chaos, adding a new layer of unpredictability to Teamfight Tactics.

Cosmetics Highlights

Project: Vayne Unbound, Project: Edgefall Arena, Chibi Forecast Janna, Kuro & Shiro (new Little Legend duo), and Portal skins are among the new cosmetics in Cyber City.

Players can now customize their Portals, Arena, Boom, and Tactician with the Cyber City update. The new Portal skins include thematic designs like PROJECT and delicate alternatives for different preferences. Portals, which allow Tacticians to travel through the Convergence, give a long-awaited degree of customization to the auto battler game.

Double Up and Tocker's Trials

The Double Up mode is leaving the Workshop and joining Teamfight Tactics permanently. Players and up to seven buddies can queue for Double Up with interesting upgrades like premade lobbies. The Teamwork Cannon replaces the Rune of Allegiance, letting players send champions and items to teammates during combat. In addition, Gift Armories are receiving an update with free gifts again.

Tocker's Trials will be revamped for Cyber City to recreate the low-stakes, timerless PvE experience that many players use to master a new set. Tocker's Trials will run throughout Cyber City's duration.

Esports

Cyber City launches TFT esports' new tier of competition with the following set. To qualify for Set 15's new tier, players must perform well in Cyber City to advance to their regional series. The new tier of competition will run alongside the Tactician Trials and Cups, leading to the Golden Spatula and Crown. These tournament changes aim to stabilize the Pro scene, improve player and fan experiences, and increase high-stakes play.
