Riot Games Philippines recently announced the return of Liga Republika, the country's premier League of Legends tournament — and this year, it's bigger than ever.
For the first time, Liga Republika will serve as the official qualifier for Filipino teams wanting to break into the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCP) Wildcard Playoffs. This is huge for Philippine esports. The new promotion-relegation system gives local talent a path from national competition to the world stage.
Interested Pinoy teams can still register until June 30, 2025. Kicking off July 4, the tournament offers a PHP 860,000 prize pool and a chance to play for the country and against top LoL squads in the region.
Liga Republika 2025: A Direct Path to LCP Wildcard Playoffs
The LCP, the Asia Pacific's top-tier regional competition, was founded in 2024, introducing a new promotion and relegation system to LoL Esports this year.
Filipino players can advance to international play in Liga Republika 2025. The Philippines' local tournament champion will earn a direct slot in the LCP Wildcard Playoffs to compete against top teams from Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Indonesia, and South Asia for a spot in the LCP's Promotion and Relegation (P&R) tournament.
The new structure encourages competitive merit over invitation and allows prospective teams to develop from grassroots to pro. The Liga Republika Champion squad can advance to the LCP Wildcard Playoffs and vie in the P&R Tournament for a position in the LCP.

Liga Republika 2025: Registration, Format, Schedule

The tournament dates are as follows:
- Open Qualifiers: July 4 to 8
- Group Stage: July 10 to 13
- Playoffs: July 19 to 27
Expect that this year's format emphasizes teamwork, strategy, and flexibility. Open Qualifiers will feature intense (Best-of-1) Bo1 matches, eliminating the unprepared. Eight of the top 12 teams will advance to the playoffs after a close Group Stage. The Fearless Draft format in the semi-finals and grand finals will encourage teams to draft diversely and have deeper champion pools. Semi-finals are Bo3 and Grand Finals are Bo5.
Besides representing the country in the LCP Wildcard Playoffs, the Liga Republika 2025 champion will receive a significant portion of the 860,000 Pesos prize pool.
