Zenless Zone Zero's Version 2.2 will bring two new agents from the Obol Squad, Seed and Orphie & Magus, along with in-game events and rewards, announced HoYoverse. In this latest patch update, "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night," slated for release on September 4, 2025, the Waifei Peninsula conflicts will center on the Obol Squad faction, where players will explore New Eridu's power struggles and secrets with new S-level agents.

Version 2.2 Overview
The Defense Force's intervention, led by Major General Lorenz and Colonel Isolde, escalates the Waifei Peninsula's power disputes. Beyond removing the Exaltists, the Obol Squad will unveil long-buried secrets and Seed's mysterious history and inner world.
Two new Obol Squad agents will join the Zenless Zone Zero roster for the Version 2.2 update.
Seed, an S-Rank Electric Attack Agent, is a master mechanic. She has made the Seed Sr. mecha a powerful partner with suppression and firepower capabilities. Seed synergizes well with other Attack agents to boost the team's sustained damage output.
Orphie & Magus, an S-Rank Fire Attack Agent, is the leader of Obol Squad. She excels at laser-based team combat. Orphie's EX Special Attack helps allies accumulate Bottled Heat and put all squad members into the Zeroed In state when hitting enemies, boosting Attack and letting Aftershocks ignore some of the enemy's Defense.
Mercury, an amazing S-Rank Bangboo who supports fighting with a tank, joins the superb roster.
Moreover, S-Rank agents, Trigger (Electric Stun) and Evelyn (Fire Attack), will return to the ZZZ Version 2.2 banners.
Further, Soldier 0 - Anby is in hard training and will return stronger with her unlocked potential in future editions.
Events also await players in the Zenless Zone Zero V2.2 update. Defense of Bangboo tower Band of Brave Bangboo will include bushes, miasmic landscape, maps, enemies, and mechanics. Players receive the A-Rank Excaliboo for clearing stages. Before fighting, this Bangboo will draw his holy sword. Success results in tremendous sword strikes, while failure results in determined hammer attacks. For lighter enjoyment, the Rhythm Rave event requires participants to sync beats to iconic tracks and gain many in-game rewards.
Additionally, player experience is improved by continuous optimizations. For instance, before starting Quality Time invites, players can choose Belle or Wise.
