MLBB Project NEXT 2025 update brings 4 new maps, new hero

On September 17, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) will launch the Project NEXT 2025 patch update, developer Moonton revealed. The MOBA game's annual major update will provide new battlefield changes that refresh gameplay and force players to reconsider their strategies.

For excited MLBB fans, here are the Project NEXT 2025 highlights:
  • Annual Map Change featuring four new in-game maps: Dangerous Grass, Broken Walls, Flying Cloud, and Expanding Rivers
  • The arrival of the new marksman Obsidia
  • Major revamps for heroes Alice, Thamuz, and Dyrroth

Annual Map Change

Mobile Legends' annual Project NEXT improves gameplay, builds, heroes, and meta-balancing.

The Annual Map Change elevates MLBB's battlefield experience this year. It adds four new maps that change gameplay. Players will have to reassess their lane strategy, hero choices, and knowledge of Land of Dawn with these maps.

Mobile Legends - Project NEXT 2025 - new maps (Dangerous Grass, Broken Walls, Flying Cloud, Expanding Rivers)

Map 1 - Dangerous Grass
The high ground, inner turrets, Mid Lane, and Lord's pit are covered in dense grass in the Dangerous Grass map. These bushes allow high-burst damage heroes, such as Saber and Eudora, to hide, surprise enemies, and execute their full skill combos for instant wipeouts.

Map 2 - Broken Walls
The new Broken Walls map provides new battlefield shortcuts, making even safe zones dangerous. These paths offer mobility-based heroes like Johnson additional kills. Alternatively, it gives less mobile heroes more escape routes. Jungle players can now enter the pit from behind the wall to steal the coveted Lord or Turtle.

Map 3 - Flying Cloud
The new map option helps players defend higher ground faster. The Flying Cloud platform near the base can transport a recently-respawned hero by putting them in flight state and letting them hover for five seconds above the higher ground. This new feature lets heroes start a team fight or stop minions from destroying base turrets.

Map 4 - Expanding River
The fourth map has expanding rivers. The river's current has increased, enhancing hero mobility, enabling faster ganks and rotations. Heroes without dash skills benefit from water flow, which speeds them up to avoid danger or boost teammates in team fights.

New Hero and Revamps

Obsidia, the newest Shadow Abyss marksman, will debut in MLBB Project NEXT 2025. This year's biggest in-game patch features the former ruler of the Land of Dawn's bottomless pit.

On the other hand, Alice, Thamuz, and Dyrroth will get major revamps.
