The much-awaited update of the year by Mobile Legends: Bang Bang fans is finally here. Developer Moonton Games launched the Project NEXT update on September 17, 2025, bringing a revamped map via the Annual Map Change.
In this season, MLBB players will face new challenges that will test their strategy and skill. The new Marksman hero "Obsidia" also debuted.
MLBB Project NEXT 2025 Update Overview
Annual Map Change
Four new maps will change the gameplay and add variety to the battlefield with the Annual Map Change feature.
New maps are randomly selected during hero selection. This will test teams' hero drafting skills and require them to choose heroes based on maps, including Dangerous Grass, Broken Walls, Flying Cloud, and Expanding Rivers.
Obsidia
Obsidia, a new hero in MLBB NEXT 2025 Season 38, hails from a forgotten age. As the Sovereign of Dark's End, she's unique among marksmen. Her strength comes from Bone Energy, which turns into Bone Shards. She releases all collected Bone Shards at once when hitting an enemy, each one focusing on her target to boost her attack. The longer her opponents face her, the harsher her Basic Attacks get.
Obsidia is connected to her enemies because she attached herself to them with her Ultimate Hunt of Bone. Obsidia will keep the tied opponent from fleeing her lethal Bone Shards by locking her distance. Revamped Heroes
Dyrroth, Alice, and Thamuz received major revamps. In their new forms, they will fight together with the Sovereign of the Abyss.
The Abyss is now a perilous place where only the strongest survive. Shattered, burnt, and fractured landscapes represent survival's harshness. Fearsome structures rise like fangs, reminding us of the peril inside. New Abyss heroes Dyrroth, Alice, and Thamuz designs are based on these haunting visuals. New Achievement System
Mobile Legends' Achievement System has been updated with new career achievements.
Players can now unlock many tiers of prestigious flairs that demonstrate mastery and skill based on playstyle and match performance. Proudly exhibit your achievements on the new Wall of Honor.
Gameplay Enhancements
This Project NEXT 2025 patch update improves controls and responsiveness based on Mobile Legends community feedback. Improved "Red-flash" indicator feedback for combat hits makes damaged targets more evident, and controlled effect visuals clarify stun/silence effects.
