Veto, the newest Senegalese Sentinel agent, is joining the Valorant roster on October 7, 2025, Riot Games revealed. This marks another milestone in the hero shooter game's evolution.
Veto's brave, never-before-seen defensive closes enemy utility and forces raw gunfights, first revealed at Valorant Champions Paris grand finals.
Meanwhile, Skirmish, Valorant's new custom game mode, offers quick 1v1 to 5v5 action in a fast-paced, close-quarters map.
Abilities
Veto, an enforcer from Senegal, breaks the rules of engagement by canceling his opponent's powers and technology. This is possible because of an unstoppable DNA mutation.
Veto's abilities (from basic to ultimate) are as follows:
- Chokehold - EQUIP a sticky mutation fragment. FIRE to toss. When it hits, the piece traps adversaries. Held enemies are deaf and decayed. Before activation, enemies can dismantle the trap.
- Crosscut - EQUIP the vortex. FIRE on the ground. REACTIVATE to perform teleportation to the vortex while in range and peeking at it. In the BUY PHASE, the vortex can be recovered to be REDEPLOYED.
- Interceptor - EQUIP it. FIRE the Interceptor to the estimated position. Reuse after placement. After activation, it destroys any utility that would bounce off an enemy or be shot. Opponents can destroy the Interceptor.
- Evolution - Mutate instantly, earning a battle stim, regeneration, and immunity to debuffs.
Gameplay
Veto, Valorant's 29th agent and seventh Sentinel, disrupts gameplay with his utility-counter skills. He counters opposing abilities by controlling choke points and punishing aggressive pushes. Chokehold, his signature skill, traps adversaries in a mutant slime trap that deafens and weakens them, suitable for tiny passages or site entrances. Crosscut, his teleportation mechanic, lets him build a vortex and quickly reposition inside its range, giving him remarkable mobility for a Sentinel and allowing inventive flanks or swift escapes.
His ability to demolish rival setups distinguishes Veto. His Interceptor eliminates incoming grenades and crowd-control (CC) tools, forcing opponents to reassess their strategy. Veto's ultimate, Evolution, mutates him into a combat-enhanced form.
Veto is a strong solo defender and a strategic team player with these skills.
