Behind Lapulapu's Design
The appearance of HOK's Lapulapu is based on the renowned statue of the historical figure located in the Central Visayas region. The Kampilan sword in the character's right hand and the Kalasag shield he carries on his left are mythical reimaginings. The Kampilan, with wave patterns, has a vortex energy, while the Kalasag depicts Bakunawa, a Filipino sea monster.
The new HOK hero is donned with 14th–15th century Visayan clothing with intricate patterns of the sun, waves, and scales to reflect early Filipino animist ideas and nature worship. The hero's red color scheme symbolizes his bravery, strength, and determination.
Skills and Gameplay
Lapulapu is built to dominate the HOK battlefield, not just survive. His strong knock-up ultimate and agile second skill allow players to control the tempo of battle by disrupting opposing formations or outmaneuvering opponents.
