Where Winds Meet, the free-to-play Wuxia ARPG on PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices, has unveiled the release date for the second chapter of its new expansion. Chapter 2 of the Hexi region launches on April 2, 2026, and takes players to Liangzhou and its icy mountains, including new bosses, a new weapon, a storyline, and much more.
Liangzhou is the exhilarating second act of the Hexi expansion, which covers three chapters across varied geographical regions. Building on Chapter 1, it advances the great narrative and immerses players in a new frontier.
Hexi Expansion Chapter 2 Update Overview
New Map Region and New Phase: Liangzhou, unlocked after the Jade Gate Pass, contrasts with the wide deserts of the preceding chapter. Using traditional eastern poetic metaphors of "grape wine in a night-glowing cup," the design blends romanticism with the hard reality of a walled city. After a major plot twist, the region will enter a strange new phase. This change will provide Jianghu with an unmatched experience in exploration and battle.
New Story: This update covers two journeys. "Liangzhou Melody" focuses on a teenage musician's quest for a hometown he's never known. Meanwhile, "Paper Moon" shows how a Buddhist hall fight changes two people's lives in chaotic times. They want Chang'an's moonlight as a beacon in a difficult time.
New Sect: The "Raging Tides" sect emphasizes iron-willed resolution on the battlefield, where friends share life and death. This severe discipline contrasts with their free-spirited lifestyle and enjoyment of wine in daily cultivation.
New Weapon: The much-anticipated Heng Blade, a Tang Dynasty cold weapon masterpiece, has a straight-angled tip and exquisite lines. The weapon's "deflect-and-counter" mechanism for quick, proactive suppression forms the new "Stonesplit Strength" martial arts path with the potent Mo Blade, whose combat animations were designed by seven-time Hong Kong Film Award winner Stephen Tung Wai.
New Campaigns and World Bosses: Snowy wilds will present intriguing new challenges for Where Winds Meet players.
