Globe/TM services back near 100% in Mindanao quake-hit areas

Globe has restored network services in 31 of 32 affected municipalities across Southern Mindanao while continuing emergency connectivity and relief efforts to support communities recovering from the magnitude 7.8 earthquake.

Globe and TM services in the following provinces are now fully restored:
  • Zamboanga del Norte
  • Zamboanga Sibugay
  • South Cotabato
  • Sultan Kudarat
  • Maguindanao del Norte
  • Maguindanao del Sur
  • Sarangani

Per Globe, their restoration teams are still deployed in the remaining affected areas experiencing intermittent signal, particularly where commercial power interruptions continue to impact telecommunications facilities.

Globe also activated Libreng Tawag, Libreng Charging, and Libreng Wi-Fi (LTLCLW) sites in GenSan to provide free calls, device charging, and connectivity services for affected residents:
  • Purok Balite, Barangay Lagao, General Santos City
    • June 11 to 13, 2026, 8 AM to 5 PM
  • Hicban Village, Barangay Lagao, General Santos City
    • June 11 to 13, 2026, 8 AM to 5 PM

Moreover, Globe implemented connectivity assistance and emergency support programs in Sultan Kudarat, South Cotabato, and Sarangani to provide additional assistance to consumers as their communities recover from the earthquake.
  • Globe Prepaid: Free 1GB satellite data and 50 satellite SMS, valid for 7 days
  • Globe Platinum and Postpaid: Free 2GB satellite data and unlimited satellite SMS, valid for 60 days
  • Globe Rewards and GCash: Customers can donate to Ayala Foundation's relief efforts via the GlobeOne app or GCash

In addition to network repair, Globe and Ayala Foundation are helping Southern Mindanao locals. In coordination with disaster response partners and local government units, the City Social Welfare and Development Office handed out 200 assistance packs in Purok Balite, Barangay Lagao, General Santos City. To assess affected communities' support needs, the Foundation is working with local authorities.

Beginning June 16, Brigadang Ayala and WeAreAyala Business Club Davao will distribute 1,300 relief supplies to aid recovery. Globe and Ayala Group partner communities in hard-hit areas will receive assistance immediately.

For those unaware, I would also like to add that the satellite-to-mobile service deployed by Globe in quake-hit areas is powered by Starlink. – PinoyTechSaga
