Huawei Philippines has launched its latest smartphones under the nova series, the Huawei nova 8 and nova 8i.
The Huawei nova 8 features a 6.57-inch Curved OLED Display with a 90Hz screen refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It is powered by a Huawei Kirin 820E processor, paired with 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, and a 3,800mAh battery that supports 66W Huawei SuperCharge. It also packs quad rear cameras consisting of a 64-megapixel primary snapper, 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, 2-megapixel macro lens, and 2-megapixel depth sensor. Its display’s top-centered punch-hole houses a 32MP selfie camera.
Meanwhile, the Huawei nova 8i features a 6.67-inch Huawei Edgeless Display and FHD+ resolution. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 octa-core processor, paired with 8GB RAM, up to 128GB storage, and a 4,300 mAh battery with support for 66W HUAWEI SuperCharge. It also dons quad rear cameras consisting of a 64-megapixel primary shooter, 8-megapixel ultrawide camera, 2-megapixel macro sensor, and 2-megapixel bokeh camera. The phone got a 16MP selfie camera tucked inside the pill-shaped punch-hole of the display.
Huawei EMUI software
Huawei nova 8 runs on EMUI 12 based on Android 11, while nova 8i comes with EMUI 11 based on Android 10. Though EMUI for nova 8 and nova 8i has no Google Mobile Services (GMS) support, users can download their favorite apps on the Huawei AppGallery. They can download many high-quality apps, including TikTok, GCash, Instagram, Shopee, foodpanda, Lazada, and more popular apps. They can also enjoy a better experience by installing “Petal Search,” a search engine tool by Huawei.
