Globe deploys free calls, free WiFi services to Jolina-hit areas
Globe has deployed free calls, device charging, and WiFi services to residents in areas affected by Typhoon Jolina, which already made landfall in Eastern Samar on September 6, 2021.
Globe Telecom’s “Libreng Tawag,” “Libreng Charging,” and “Libreng WiFi” services are available in:
  • Borongan Plaza, Baybay 3, Borongan City, Eastern Samar – September 7 to 8, 2021 – 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
  • In front of the Municipal Building of Sta. Margarita in Western Samar – September 7 to 8, 2021 – 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Jolina has turned into a typhoon from a severe tropical storm and is likely to bring heavy rains, resulting in flash floods or landslides.
Globe guarantees the public that it is prepared to assist in any way necessary to ensure the continued availability of communications services. Technical and support employees from the company are on standby. Additionally, it has generators for its facilities in the event of a power outage.
In the event of heavy rains, flash floods, or landslides during a severe weather disturbance, Globe advises residents to remain indoors, stockpile food and water, prepare candles and first aid kits, ensure flashlights have extra batteries, fully charge their mobile phones, and remain alert for SMS from NDRRMC.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), “Jolina” may deliver torrential rainfall to Eastern Visayas, Sorsogon, and Masbate.
Moderate to heavy rainfall is also likely over the southern portion of Quezon, Romblon, Marinduque, and the rest of Bicol and Visayas.
