Riot Games to release its own game launcher

Riot Games to release its own game launcher
Riot Games has announced that they will roll out a game launcher for its games.
With the new client for PC, Riot Games-supported regions will now be able to access all Riot titles in one place, such as League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, and Valorant.
However, this is not the case for Garena-supported regions as they will be stuck with the Garena client for League of Legends (w/ TFT in-game). Garena-supported areas include the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau.
As League of Legends is the only Riot-developed game published by Garena, SEA and TW/HK/Macau players will still be able to access Riot Games’ globally released titles, including Valorant and Legends of Runeterra in the new client.
Moreover, Riot noted that players may still use their existing game desktop shortcuts if they choose to do so.

New Riot Games Launcher Features

  • Download Riot titles and patches in the client.
  • Access to relevant news, updates, and information.
  • Switch between Riot titles without hassle.
  • Each game has its dedicated landing page with game-specific details and a dynamic call to action.
  • Game pages include cinematic backgrounds, previews of events, and relevant news.

Riot Client Launcher Release Schedule

The first phase of the Riot Client rollout will begin on September 20, 2021. After a few weeks of testing and ensuring stability, Riot Games will globally launch the client starting October 4.
Riot also said that the worldwide release date is subject to change if their team requires updates or revisions.
