For the first time, Vivo has claimed the top 5G smartphone brand in the Asia Pacific in the second quarter of 2021.
According to the recent report of global market solutions firm Strategy Analytics, Vivo leads the Asia Pacific 5G shipments from April to June with a 20.0 % market share.
“Vivo is the leading smartphone vendor in Asia Pacific, with annual shipment growth of 215 percent,” said Strategy Analytics senior analyst Yiwen Wu.
Vivo was followed by Xiaomi with a 19.3% market share. Coming in third to fifth spots are Oppo (18.7%), Apple (18.5%), and Samsung (6.6%).
Wu added that Vivo had surpassed other smartphone manufacturers by capitalizing on a combination of cutting-edge technology and affordable prices.
Vivo’s smartphones, such as iQOO U3 5G and iQOO 7 5G, are the region’s most popular 5G devices.
Additionally, Strategy Analytics reports that 5G smartphone shipments in the Asia Pacific have more than doubled in the last year (up 110 percent annually).
