The League of Legends: Wild Rift Southeast Asia (SEA) Championship 2021 will take place from September 14 until October 3. Nine regions will be participating in the regional tournament, including the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, and Oceania.
Wild Rift SEA Championship 2021 Overview
20 teams from Southeast Asia and 1 squad from Oceania are qualified for the tournament, comprising 21 teams that will compete for a share of the USD 200,000 (~ PHP 10 million) prize pool and two spots to the inaugural Wild Rift World Championship 2021.
Game Format
Here’s the game format for the 2021 Wild Rift SEA Championship.
- 12 Play-in squads are split into 3 brackets of 4 teams
- All matches will be in a double-elimination format, best-of-five (Bo5) series
- Top teams from 3 brackets will advance to Group Stage
Group Stage
- 12 Group Stage teams (including 9 Direct Invites and 3 Play-ins Winners) are split into 2 groups of 6 teams
- All matches will be in a single-round robin format, best-of-two (Bo2) series
- The top 4 from each group will advance to Playoffs
- The Playoffs stage will feature 8 teams
- Double-elimination format, teams are seeded based on group stage performances:
- Group Winners: Upper Bracket Round 2
- 2nd/3rd: Upper Bracket Round 1
- 4th: Lower Bracket Round 1
- Upper Bracket matches and Lower Bracket finals are played in a best-of-five (Bo5) series
- Lower Bracket round 1 to 3 matches are played in a best-of-three (Bo3) series
- Grand Finals is played in a best-of-seven (Bo7) series
