Xiaomi has introduced its new concept technology called the Xiaomi Smart Glasses. Check out its features and specs below.
According to Xiaomi, their first pair of smart eyewear can take calls, display messages and notifications, navigate, take photos, and translate text using MicroLED technology. Essential information such as smart home alarms, urgent information from office apps, and messages from important contacts will only show up to avoid disturbing users.
Xiaomi chose a monochrome MicroLED technology over an OLED due to its higher pixel density and longer lifespan. MicroLED also has brighter displays and deeper blacks.
The Xiaomi Smart Glasses’ MicroLED display measures just 0.13-inch (smaller than a grain of rice) and has a peak brightness of 2 million nits. The light will not be that bright when it reaches your eye; extreme brightness is necessary to ensure that it remains visible in direct sunlight after passing through an optical waveguide lens that refracts and directs the light.
Moreover, it integrates a total of 497 components, such as miniature sensors and communication modules. Additionally, it includes a built-in microphone capable of transcribing audio into text with real-time translations. An indicator light is situated next to the camera to indicate when it is in use.
The smart wearable device runs on an Android operating system, paired with an unspecified quad-core ARM processor, a touchpad, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. The device only weighs 51g, which allows the smart eyewear to resemble traditional glasses.
