Online video streaming service Netflix has released its ISP Speed Index for September 2021, ranking ISPs in the Philippines based on their performance.
Globe and Sky Cable tied for the top spot in the Netflix ISP Speed Index for September 2021. The two telcos had maintained their August 2021 ranking while Converge has dropped into the second spot.
According to the September 2021 data, Globe and Sky Cable have recorded the same speed of 3.4 Mbps for the number one spot.
Converge ranked second place with 3.2 Mbps. PLDT at third place posted 3.0 Mbps. Royal Cable came fourth place with 2.6 Mbps.
Netflix PH ISP Speed Index – Leaderboard – September 2021
The Netflix ISP Speed Index determines which international ISPs (internet service providers) offer the best Netflix viewing experience during peak hours. The list is based on data collected from streaming platform subscribers.
The speed index is essential for Netflix streaming because its videos perform best on networks with low-latency, jitter-free, and packet-loss. Otherwise, customers would experience pixelization, buffering, and other video streaming issues.
