Riot Games has announced that its upcoming Netflix animated series “Arcane” will be available to co-stream exclusively on the Twitch platform.
Content creators on the live streaming service will be free to broadcast themselves watching and reacting to the first episode of Arcane, which will be released on Netflix on November 6 at 6 PM CT (November 7 at 10 AM PH Time).
The series will premiere on Netflix immediately following the grand finals of the LoL Worlds Championship 2021, the MOBA game’s biggest tournament.
While watching on Twitch, fans can look forward to exclusive in-game rewards from League, Legends of Runeterra, and Teamfight Tactics.
The Arcane TV series was developed and produced by Riot Games, with animation services by Fortiche Productions.
Arcane will be released in three acts, each containing three episodes that will run for approximately 40 minutes. The following are the dates for each act.
- 1st Act (Episodes 1 to 3) – November 6, 7 PM PT
- 2nd Act (Episodes 4 to 6) – November 13
- 3rd Act (Episodes 7 to 9) – November 20
The story follows the backstory of two sisters, Jinx and Vi, from their challenging childhood to their varied paths in adulthood. Moreover, the series is set in the rival twin cities of Piltover, a steampunk utopia protected by Vi, and Zaun, an oppressed underground where Jinx wreaks havoc.
To recall, Riot Games initially announced the release date and official trailer of Arcane last month. The short teaser of Arcane was unveiled in May.
While most will watch Arcane via Netflix, League of Legends fans in China will stream the series via Tencent Video.
Arcane is a vital addition to Netflix’s growing collection of video game adaptations. Dota 2, LoL’s primary MOBA competitor, launched its anime series DOTA: Dragon’s Blood on Netflix in March. Additionally, it has been renewed for a second season.
