NetEase Games has launched the fifth iteration of Identity V’s biggest tournament, Call of the Abyss V (COA V).
Call of the Abyss V is Identity V’s premier e-sports tournament, open to players from six major regions: Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the United States. The final contestants will compete for a share of the total prize pool of RMB 4 million (around USD 627k) and the championship title.
The tournament is divided into four phases in the following sequence:
- The City of Lights
- Neon Corridor
- Ethereal Theatre
- Color Out of Space
The City of Lights: The registration phase runs from December 23, 2021, until December 30, 2021. In this stage, Club Captains can register for their clubs for free, and their members are eligible to participate in the grand event. (All members of the IVC-Southeast Asia Champions/Summer IVC Japan/Fall IVC Japan shall be in the same club).
Neon Corridor: The preliminary phase will run from December 30, 2021, to January 13, 2022. Registered clubs will compete against one another for a variety of event-exclusive prizes. Individuals and clubs that are not registered can also earn a percentage of the rewards. Clubs that compete in Neon Corridor bouts receive points, and the top 50 clubs from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong & Macau & Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and NA-EU proceed to the Ethereal Theatre phase.
Ethereal Theatre: The playoff phase will start on January 13, 2022, to January 20, 2022. The top fifty (50) clubs from Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong & Macau & Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and NA-EU that advanced from Neon Corridor will vie for points in Ethereal Theatre. The top 8 unseeded clubs from each competing division will receive additional rewards and invitations to the Online Qualifiers. (In the event that a seeded club cannot participate, the invitation will be extended according to the rankings.)
Color Out of Space: The ranking announcement phase will begin after maintenance on January 20, 2022. The top eight (8) clubs in each Ethereal Theatre division will be invited to compete in the Call of the Abyss V Online Qualifiers.
In the light of “Color Out of Space,” Identity V’s Call of the Abyss V (COA 5) is set in the eternal Metropolis.
Call of the Abyss V tournament will start on December 23, 2021. Players can now register at the COA5 reservation page, get more details, and get 3 COA5 Abyss Treasures as a reward.
