Onic Philippines clinched the first slot in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang M3 World Championship grand finals after beating North America’s BloodThirstyKings (BTK), 3-0, in the upper bracket finals on December 18, 2021.
With an excellent combination of hero lineup and objectives-focused play, Onic PH dominated BTK in Game 1, handing the North American squad their first loss in the best-of-five series, 1-0. The first game ended in the 15th minute, with Onic PH scoring a whopping 17 kills against 5 of BTK.
Hatred’s Pharsa was named the MVP in the first game, recording 5-0-5 KDA.
Game 2 witnessed Onic PH cornering BTK’s FwydChicken (Aldous) to cripple the American squad. With a consistent objectives-focused strategy, Onic piled an 11k gold advantage in the 16th minute, enabling them to acquire their necessary items. Without any turrets destroyed, the Filipino team wiped out BTK at the 17-minute mark to take the second game, reaching the match point 2-0.
Hatred’s Chou earned the MVP honors in the second game with a 2-0-8 KDA score.
To ultimately secure the 3-0 sweep, Onic PH finished Game 3 with a lord push at the 21-minute mark. The Filipinos were also able to incapacitate BTK’s ace jungler MobaZane (Roger), limiting him to a 0-5-3 KDA.
Dlarskie’s Yu Zhong emerged MVP in the third game, tallying 3 kills and 7 assists against 0 deaths.
With the victory, Onic is assured to take home at least USD 120,000 (around PHP 6 million) as it awaits its rival for the championship.
Meanwhile, BTK has been dropped to the lower bracket finals, where it will fight the winner between Blacklist International and Singapore’s EVOS SG.
