According to the microblogging platform, there was a 14% gain on tweets year over year, with 2021 amassing 2.4 billion tweets about gaming.

miHoYo’s Genshin Impact took the top spot in terms of global gaming Tweets in 2021, proving the game’s massive popularity. Meanwhile, both the most Tweeted esports teams and leagues are from Brazil, indicating how active South America’s largest country is in esports.
In the Philippines, here are the games that trended on Twitter in 2021:

However, the rest of the charts were different. Riot Games’ Valorant and League of Legends grabbed the second and fourth spots, respectively. Online game platform and game creation system, Roblox, placed third. Sandbox game Minecraft came fifth.
