Team Secret won the 2022 Valorant Champions Tour (VCT) Philippines Stage 2 Challengers after defeating Oasis Gaming, 3-1, in the nerve-racking best-of-five grand finals on May 29.
Team Secret began the series with a 17-15 overtime victory on Icebox, followed by a 13-9 triumph on Ascent.
Oasis Gaming dominated Game Three with a 13-10 comeback victory on Breeze.
Game 4 on Haven saw Team Secret not giving Oasis Gaming a chance for a decider game, as they gave their best performance and scored a 13-6 round win.
With their victory, Team Secret took home the grand prize of USD 10,500 (around PHP 549k) of the USD 30,000 prize pool. Meanwhile, runners-up Oasis Gaming bagged USD 8,500 (roughly PHP 444k) in consolation. Both teams, together with third-placers Rex Regum Qeon, earned a slot for VCT APAC Stage 2 Challengers.
To recall, Team Secret had an underwhelming performance in VCT PH Stage 1 Challengers. They only settled for a 5th-6th place finish. South Built Esports were the champions of Stage 1.
