Netflix, through its official Twitter handle (Netflix Anime), has unveiled a new poster for the upcoming series, “Yu Yu Hakusho,” depicting Eugene’s recognizable ray gun, Vincent’s bandaged arm, Dennis’s rose whip, and Alfred carrying his uniform over his shoulder.
According to character posters released by the subscription-based video streaming platform, Takumi Kitamura and Jun Shison will portray Yusuke Urameshi (Eugene) and Kurama (Dennis).
Takumi previously acted in the live-action films “Let Me Eat Your Pancreas” and “Tokyo Revengers,” while Jun stars in the live-action television series “The Way of the Househusband.”
“Ghost Fighter,” originally titled “Yu Yu Hakusho” in Japan, is based on Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga of the same name.
1990 saw its serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump, and 1992 saw its adaptation as an anime series. Ghost Fighter initially aired in the Philippines in 1999 through the free-to-air TV network GMA 7.
The story revolves around Yusuke, a juvenile delinquent from high school, who becomes an “underworld detective” after dying in a vehicle accident while attempting to save a child.
The debut of the live-action adaption will premier on Netflix in December 2023.
