How to Switch to Smart or TNT With 3 Easy Steps

How to Switch to Smart or TNT With 3 Easy Steps

If you're from Globe, TM, GOMO, or DITO, switching to the Smart or TNT network is now easier with just three steps.

This process of changing your network while keeping your SIM number is called Mobile Number Portability or MNP. The porting process is free of charge. However, you may need to pay a delivery fee if you wish for a Smart SIM delivered to you. To change your network, follow the step-by-step guide below.

How to Switch to Smart or TNT from Globe, TM, GOMO, Cherry Prepaid, or DITO

Step 1: Get your Unique Subscriber Code (USC) from your current network provider.

A Unique Subscriber Code (USC) is a 9-digit code issued by your current network provider to start the MNP Process. It serves as a clearance that your account is free from unpaid fees and balances. Check out the requirements for external porting.

The USC is valid for fifteen (15) days from the date of issue. Here is how you can get your USC:
  • For Globe and TM customers: Book an in-store appointment online (https://ift.tt/n0bVy1M).
  • For GOMO users: Send a message to the official GOMO Facebook page (https://ift.tt/IDx3cYd) to request your USC.
  • For Cherry Prepaid users: Contact its customer service hotline at 7909-4909 (1 peso per call using Cherry Prepaid SIM)
  • For DITO subscribers: Contact the DITO customer service hotline at 185.

Step 2: Get a Smart 5G-ready MNP SIM card and apply online.

If you want to switch to Smart Prepaid or TNT, you can get your 5G-ready MNP SIM by going to any Smart Store nationwide or ordering it online.

If you want to switch to Smart Postpaid, on the other hand, you can acquire your 5G-ready MNP SIM card by booking an appointment at your selected Smart Store.

Step 3: Activate your Smart/TNT 5G-ready MNP SIM.

Once you already have a Smart/TNT 5G-Ready MNP SIM and have completed your MNP application, follow the steps below to activate it.
  • Insert the 5G-Ready Smart/TNT MNP SIM into your mobile device. Be sure that your mobile data is turned off.
  • Dial *123# (Smart/TNT USSD code) on your phone's dialer.
  • Select "Activate MNP & Other Services."
  • Select "Mobile Number Portability."
  • For Prepaid, enter your Mobile Number, USC (the 9-digit code), and select the brand you've applied for (Smart or TNT). For Postpaid, input your Mobile Number and USC.
  • Enter 1 to confirm your application.
  • Wait for the SMS regarding successful porting.
  • Restart your phone.

That's it, and you're done! Smart says that switching to its network comes with many "awesome perks" and "rewarding experiences," including access to GigaLife App and a 9GB data freebie for prepaid subscribers.
