Globe to deploy SIM registration booths in 15 remote areas

Globe has announced that it is set to deploy SIM registration booths in 15 remote areas across the country.

According to Globe, it fully supports the government-led simultaneous deployment of assisted SIM registration in remote areas, as the telco shares the goal of reaching all SIM card users nationwide and getting them registered within the April 26 deadline.

In locations prioritized by the government for assisted SIM registration, including those with poor or no internet connectivity, Globe will set up SIM registration booths as a service provider.

Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu said that they support "the government's initiative to put up special assistance booths to serve mobile users in hard-to-reach areas." Cu added that they would "exert all effort" so all Globe and TM customers would be able to register their SIM cards to continue enjoying the telco's services. They will also "work closely with the government, so no one is left behind in the SIM registration process."

Cu also said that as they work together towards this shared goal, they "look forward to the support of both the national government and LGUs [local government units] in helping telcos reach out to SIM users and encouraging them to register."

From January 25 to 27, 2023, Globe will conduct assisted SIM Registration in 15 identified areas in coordination with the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC):

In addition to supporting the NTC-led assisted SIM registration initiative, Globe will launch its own nationwide SIM registration initiative in February. It recently held its massive assisted registration for Sinulog Festival and Dinagyang Festival attendees in Cebu and Ilagan, respectively.

From January 27 to January 29, 2023, Globe will offer assisted registration at 30 Puregold locations throughout the country.

Globe's online SIM registration platform (https://ift.tt/JHaxqDF) is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, for Globe and TM customers to register their SIM cards. The GlobeOne app will soon be able to register SIM cards, providing customers with greater convenience.
