AutoChess MOBA is scheduled for shutdown by the end of February 2023, announced developer Dragonest. However, the mobile MOBA game is expected to return with a better version.
To recall, AutoChess MOBA soft-launched on Android and iOS platforms in select countries, including the Philippines, in December 2022.
In a Facebook post, the AutoChess MOBA dev team said that before Soft Launch began, they had been "polishing up and refining the product" as well as "made sufficient preparation to launch it." However, numerous problems are continuously occurring, such as lagging, Ping dropping, network disconnection, and prolonged matchmaking time.
Dragonest said that "at the moment, some of the issues still cannot be completely solved". These problems are "severely impairing some players' gaming experience."
Moreover, the AutoChess MOBA development team detailed the schedule for the game's service termination.
January 30, 2023 – All DLCs will be removed from all platforms and app stores. In addition, the In-App Purchase and the top-up system will be disabled simultaneously.
February 6, 2023 – The game will be removed from all platforms and app stores. Moreover, AutoChess MOBA functions on Pocket Dragonest will be discontinued, and the AutoChess MOBA Global Official Website will be shut down.
February 28, 2023 – All AutoChess MOBA servers will be closed, and logins will no longer be possible.
According to the developers' announcement, they "will keep developing AutoChess Moba until it is adequate for your anticipation," so it does not appear that the game will be discontinued anytime soon.
Therefore, fans need not be concerned about the game's discontinuation, as the mobile game will return to the market once it has been improved.
