Ragnarok Origin, a mobile MMORPG developed by Gravity, is set to launch globally, including in the Philippines and SEA region, in Q2 2023.
The announcement was made during the company's report for preliminary unaudited financial results for Q4 2022 and business updates.
The classic PC MMORPG title "Ragnarok Online" is celebrating its 20th anniversary since its initial release in South Korea. In line with this, Gravity announced that Ragnarok Origin, the game's sequel, is scheduled to be launched internationally (which includes the Southeast Asian region) in the second quarter of 2023 (around May to June).
For those unaware, Ragnarok Origin was known as Ragnarok: Love at First Sight and then Ragnarok: First Love. It perfectly embodies the feel of Ragnarok Online with the faithfully remade look and upgraded gameplay. Players can explore famous cities of Ragnarok reborn with beautiful and massive scale graphics. And enjoy a fantasy life enriched with skills like gardening, mining, and fishing.
The game retained some of the original Ragnarok Online's most beloved features. This includes classic art style, pets, soundtrack, gameplay, and crafting system, among other elements.
However, since it is still a more modern game, classic scenes, monsters, and characters have been improved, and it will have new graphics.
Ragnarok Origin's release in Southeast Asia will include various enhancements and improvements, such as online and offline rewards and special in-game events to celebrate the launch of the game.
