Globe opens SIM card registration via GlobeOne App

Globe Telecom announced that all Globe Prepaid and TM users can now register their SIMs via the GlobeOne app.

According to the telco, this is "another convenient and accessible option to comply with the SIM Registration Act."

By incorporating SIM registration into its mobile app, Globe hopes to expand its reach to subscribers and complete the registration of approximately 86.7 million SIM users on its network by the April 26 deadline. Globe has recorded over 14.47 million registrations as of February 22, 2023.

Globe consumer mobile business head Darius Delgado said that they've "made the GlobeOne app available for SIM registration to provide an easy and convenient platform" for their customers to register.

How to register Globe or TM SIM via GlobeOne App

Search for GlobeOne on App Store (for iOS) or Google Play (for Android) and download the app.

Before initiating the registration procedure, subscribers must have all of the required information and documents, including:
  • Full name
  • Birthday
  • Sex
  • Address
  • Type of government ID presented and ID number
  • Valid government ID with photo (file size only up to 4MB)
  • Selfie photo (file size only up to 4MB)

Here are three easy steps to register your Globe Prepaid/Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi/TM SIM via the GlobeOne app:
  1. Open the GlobeOne app and tap "Register Your SIM".
  2. Select the account you want to register or enter your mobile number. Update your information.
  3. Wait for the confirmation that you're registered.

After successfully submitting their information, customers are advised to record their registration number.

Moreover, Globe reiterated its warning against dealing with individuals or organizations offering assistance with SIM registration, as doing so might result in identity theft and fraud. For example, fraudsters may use your personal information to gain access to your bank accounts or e-wallets or to create fake accounts with your name and photo for use in illegal activities.

Delgado advised Globe and TM customers "to only use official channels for SIM registration and not to share personal information with strangers or unverified sources." He said that the GlobeOne app and their company's SIM registration website, https://ift.tt/gHuavyZ, are the only official channels where their customers should register.

Further, Globe has begun deploying assisted registration sites for senior citizens, pregnant women, persons with disabilities, users of basic or feature phones, and anyone else requiring assistance to register their SIM cards. This is to ensure that customers can register their SIM cards in a timely and convenient manner despite any obstacles or circumstances.

Globe encourages all of its customers to register their SIMs by April 26, 2023, in order to avoid SIM deactivation.
