TNT, Smart lead mobile brands in PH: NielsenIQ

Smart and its value brand TNT has the most users in the Philippines based on the survey co-conducted by Smart and market research company NielsenIQ.

The internal study was conducted from January 5 to April 3, 2023. It surveyed 1,175 Filipinos across the country, aged 18 to 60 years old, who personally own a mobile SIM card, and were asked about their mobile service providers. The study also considered users that are single and multiple SIM owners.

Among the respondents, 46% own and use a TNT mobile SIM, which is significantly higher than the competition. Further, 14% said they own and use Smart Prepaid, and 1% were Sun Cellular Prepaid users.

According to the same study, Smart is the leading mobile group in the country in terms of subscriber count, with 59% of respondents claiming to use its brands, which include Talk 'N Text (TNT), Smart Prepaid, and Sun Prepaid.

Except for Mindanao, TNT is the mobile brand with the most claimed subscribers in every region surveyed.

60% of the surveyed respondents in the Visayas claim to own and use a TNT SIM, followed by 46% in Balance Luzon and 39% in the Mega Manila area (Metro Manila Area + Rizal + Palawan).

In Mindanao, TM (Touch Mobile) leads with 54% claimed SIM users, followed by TNT with 41% claimed SIM users.

The survey had 329 respondents in Mega Manila, 438 respondents in Balance Luzon, 194 respondents in Visayas, and 214 respondents in Mindanao.
